Cardiff City Ladies left it late to snatch three points on the South coast thanks to goals from Kaitlyn Morgan and Ellie Sargent.

City started strongly and took the lead in the sixth minute when a lovely flowing attack saw Cori Williams feed the ball through for Morgan who rounded the Chichester keeper and calmly slotted the ball into the unguarded net.

Ten minutes later and Morgan nearly doubled the visitors lead, seeing her shot pushed away to Sargent, who couldn't keep her first time finish below the bar.

The hosts threatened for the first time just before the interval but a shot from the edge of the box was easily claimed by Laura O'Sullivan.

The second half was equally as tense and scrappy as the first, with goalmouth opportunities few and far between.

Williams nearly doubled Cardiff's lead 12 minutes after the break when she diverted Sargent's low cross goalbound but it thudded to safety off the upright.

With 12 minutes left, it looked like the hosts had snatched a point when a scramble in the box resulted in the ball being poked past O'Sullivan with the Cardiff backline appealing for a flag from the linesman.

Two minutes from time, Sargent would save the visitors however, racing onto a loose ball and lashing a finish high into the net.

Despite a late red card for substitute Issy Newns, Cardiff held on to take all three points
